Eastern Region AAA 2019-2020 Player Invitational Letter

YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR PAYMENT CHEQUE PAYABLE TO ERRA,TO ERRA TREASURER, BEFORE GOING TO TRYOUTS.
Please note that payment is due by February 22, 2019.

 

Description:

Every two years, Ringette Ontario forms AAA All-Star teams in each of its six regions. These Regional All-Star teams will play in three sanctioned Challenge Cups amongst themselves and each team will represent their region at the Ontario Winter Games.
 

The Challenge Cups locations for the 2019/2020 season have not yet been selected but there will be 3 Challenge Cup tournaments.

1 in the late October early November 2019

1 in early December 2019 and

1 in early February 2020

The Ontario Winter Games will be held February 27 - March 1, 2020 in Orillia.

All players who will be eighteen years of age or younger, but a minimum of 14 years of age, as of December 31, 2019 (i.e. born between 2001 and 2005 inclusive) are eligible to try out for the Regional All-Star team.


Commitment:

The Regional All-Star teams play exhibition games, hold clinics and demonstrations and as such are ambassadors of the game at the Elite level.

Each player is expected to participate with a competitive club team in addition to their responsibilities to the Regional team.

The Regional All-star team, as an official representative team of Eastern Region and subject to ERRA by-laws, is a self financed entity. Funds are raised through team-generated means such as golf tournaments, product sales, direct fees and other miscellaneous means. In addition the team is supported financially by Eastern Region and ORA through various grants to cover equipment, travel, ice and other team expenses. A cost of approximately $500.00 per player can be anticipated.


Try-outs:

All players interested in trying out must be available for all tryout sessions. The first releases will be made following the third ice session. The try-out fee will be $125.00 per player and you will be able to keep the jersey. The cheque must be sent to the address below. Please make sure the players full name is written on the cheque with a note stating the purpose of the cheque is for AAA Tryouts, along with an email address to which a receipt can be sent.

Tryouts will involve drills and scrimmages. It will be intense and demanding but worthwhile for all players wishing to participate on the team or merely to have fun and upgrade their skills.

The Eastern AAA Tryouts will be held during the following ice times (tentative):

Friday 03-May-2019 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM Arena TBD
Saturday 04-May-2019 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Arena TBD
Sunday 05-May-2019 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Arena TBD

Pre-registration for the tryouts prior to midnight, Feb 18, 2019 IS mandatory.

ONLINE TRYOUT APPLICATIONS CLOSES

Those athletes that are interested have to complete the online form HERE prior to the date above. It will be delivered to Sean Burrows at high_performance@easternregionringette.ca  Any questions can also be directed to Sean at the same address.

Eligible players must have permanent addresses within Eastern Region boundaries.

Refunds:
In the event that a player elects to withdraw from the AAA tryouts, the tryout fee may be partially refunded (less the cost of the tryout jersey) up to 3 weeks prior to tryouts.   Beyond that time, refunds will not be provided.


Conclusion:


This is a worthwhile activity for all players and parents. Players who are selected to the team will have the opportunity to participate in the Ontario Winter Games and activities leading up to it. In addition if you are released from the Eastern AAA team you will have another opportunity to tryout for the “United" team.
