Teams should also become familiar with the information on our Information for Teams Attending Touranments page
Requirements to Attend Provincial Championships / U12 Provincial Event
All teams should be familiar with the material in the links under "Season Information" above. Particular attention should be paid to deadlines for submission of tournament preferences, registration / intent to proceed, ranking and the process for release of hotel rooms for the Provincial Championships and events. Please contact the ERRA G&T Coordinator with any questions.
Provincial Registration Form (formerly Intent to Proceed)
All Provincial teams must submit an "Provincial Registration Form" (formerly "Intent to Proceed") indicating their team's intentions to attend if invited, or not attend, Provincal Championships or the U12 Provincial Event as applicable. The Provincial Registration Form will be distributed to the teams and available here in late October. Due date for on line submission is November 19, 2019 and can be accessed from the following
The hard copy intent to proceed and team registration fee is due to the ERRA G&T Coordinator by December 01, 2019.
Teams in divisions with the potential to advance to the Canadian Ringette Championships ("Nationals") or Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships ("Easterns") will also need to separately file their intent for those events. Questions related to these events, including any related to "intent to proceed", should be directed to the ERRA Elite Coordinator.
The choices made on any declaration of team intent are binding on the team and all individuals associated with it. This is regardless of subsequent occurences or developments with the team. All teams are expected to honour these committments should they be invited to any of these events.
Re-Seeding
The ORA G&T Committee's responsibilities include monitoring the progress of all Provincial teams throughout the season. In early December, the standing of all Provincial teams will be reviewed and if deemed appropriate, teams can be re-seeded (moved between "A" and "AA") at that time. Additional information on Provincial Re-Seeding may be found under "Team Seeding" on the RO
Operating Resources page or in
this Membership Notice.
U12 teams will be monitored throughout the season and will be assigned to pools shortly before the U12 event. Additional information on the ranking of U12 teams can be found in
this Membership Notice.
Provincial Event Dates
Dates for the upcoming AA and A Provincial Championships and the U12 Provincial Event are available on the
ORA Provincials Page from ORA.
Notes:
- "Provincial" teams refers to teams registered as "AA", "A" or "U12 Provincial". These teams are seeded and ranked on a province-wide basis. A major focus of these teams is competition against other Provincial teams, particularly those that are non-local.
- "Regional" teams typically have a more local competitive focus than Provincial teams although many do attend out of town tournaments. "Regional" includes "B", "C", "U12 R" and all younger teams.
- "Substitution" refers to the use of a temporary replacement player or bench staff necessitated by the absence of a team member. This is similar to a "Call Up" in some other sports.
