ERRA Info / Administration

ERRA (Eastern Region Ringette Association) is responsible for overseeing all Ringette organizations and activities within the Eastern Region of Ringette Ontario.
  • Eastern Region includes communities within the boundaries of the City of Ottawa; Counties of Hastings, Lennox and Addington, Frontenac, Leeds, Grenville, Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, Russell, Lanark, and Renfrew.
  • The associations currently within Eastern Region are:  Arnprior-McNabb, City of Ottawa, Clarence-Rockland, Gloucester & Area Adult (GAARA), Gloucester-Cumberland, Kingston, Metcalfe & District, Nepean, Queens University Ringette, Upper Ottawa Valley, West Ottawa
  • The Leagues operating within Eastern Region are the National Capital Region Ringette League, and Gloucester & Area Adult Ringette Association.

Many of the ERRA functions are organized along the same lines as those of Ringette Ontario.  ERRA functions include (see links to the left for more information on the areas of responsibility for each function):

Adult Development
  • Promotes Adult ("Open") Ringette and the continuation of the sport of Ringette for adults.
  • Responsible for ranking and seeding the 18+ Open and 30+ Masters BB, B, CC, C and Dev teams, as well as administration of those levels; including registration, substitutions, affiliates and composite teams.

Coaching Development
  • Oversees coach training and development.

Hlgh Performance (formerly Elite)
  • Manages the AAA program (team formation and operation) and teams for Ontario Winter Games

Games & Tournaments
  • Oversees for tournament organization (hosts), team seeding and participation in tournaments, and the Provincial/Competitive system.
  • Responsible for oversight of all games and teams in our region and monitoring any disciplinary situations.

Membership Services
  • Responsible for player registration, tryout and release process, relocations, injury tracking and awards.

Officiating Development
  • Responsible for the training, development and on going activities of Referees

Sport Development
  • Oversees implementation of Long Term Athlete Development and for the evolution of our sport.
  • Oversees the roll out Skills Matrices, Implementation Plans and other changes, particularly to the U8/U9/U10 Novice and U12 Petite age groups.

  • Maintains this web site.

NCRRL
  • The National Capital Region Ringette League oversees league play for all U19 and younger teams in Eastern Region.  NCRRL directly operates a League offering all U8 through U19 Regional levels of play, U12 Provincial and U14 A.
  • In order to provide a more varied competitive experience, U16 AA and U19 AA teams participate in the LERQ (Ligue Elite de Ringuette du Québec) and U14 AA, U16 A and U19 A teams participate in the LRQ (Ligue de Ringuette du Québec).  In both cases, the NCRRL remains responsible for any disciplinary matters that arise and for general oversight.

GAARA
  • The Gloucester and Area Adult Ringette Association is both a Ringette league and a Ringette Ontario association. 
  • The majority of 18+ teams in Eastern Region are registered through GAARA and GAARA maintains overall responsibility for these teams.  (A few 18+ teams are registered through various other assocations).
  • GAARA operates an Ottawa-area 18+/35+ Ringette League which includes most 18+ teams in the Ottawa area, Gatineau and outlying areas around Ottawa.  GAARA is responsible for any disciplinary matters arising from the games it hosts.
