Player Relocation

Player Relocation can occur either as a result of a change to the player's Permanent Primary Address, or due to the player attending post-Secondary Education in another community.

Change of Permanent Primary Address

Whenever there is a change of a player's Permanent Primary Address (such as a household move) to a location within the boundaries of a different local Ringette association than their previous address, the player has the option to either:
  1. continue playing for their existing Home Association (including future seasons) or
  2. join and play for the association representing the area in which the player's new Primary Residence is located.
If the player chooses the latter option, the new association immediately and permanently becomes the player's "Home" association.

Education Relocation

A player temporarily residing away from their Permanent Primary Address for the purpose of attending a Post Secondary Institutions has the option to either:
  1. continue playing for their existing Home Association or
  2. play for the association representing the area in which the player's residence for the school year is located, or the closest association offering the appropriate level of play in accordance with that Region's policy.

Procedure

In both cases, players electing to relocate are required to submit a Player Relocation Form and supporting documentation  (as listed on the form) to the ERRA Membership Services Coordinator, and receive approval, prior to joining their new association.  The complete rules and conditions for Relocation can be found in RO Operating Resources under "Membership Services".. Please contact the ERRA Membership Services Coordinator with any questions.

Notes:

Home Association:  In most cases, a player's "home" association is either the association having boundaries within which the player's primary residence is located, or the association for which the player first played Ringette.

The information on this page applies to all players in U8/Novice through Belle (U19).  The Relocation rules and procedures do not apply to Adult players in any of the Open (18+) divisions.
